Introduction The federation Andalucía Acoge was established in 1991 by the founding members Sevilla Acoge, Almerķa Acoge, Granada Acoge, and Málaga Acoge. The aim was to join forces in order to give a more efficient and global answer to the recent immigration phenomenon. Andalucía Acoge adopted the status of a non-profit, a-political and non-confessional organisation working in the field of immigration. Andalucía Acoge tries to put into practice, in an organised and conscious manner, the ideal of universal solidarity and justice. A concept of the individual and society that emphasises the dignity of the person supports this value of solidarity. That means that the human medium and culture which has formed us has to be taken into account, but without leaving behind the individuality and singularity of each person. |
